Ronda Rousey Tipped to Return to WWE
It’s been two years since Ronda Rousey left WWE, and while she didn’t go on good terms, you can never say never in professional wrestling. That seems to be Shayna Baszler’s stance, who has suggested we could see Rousey back in a WWE ring one day.

Ronda Rousey departed WWE in October 2023 after losing to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam and has spoken about issues during her time in the company. She’s taken several digs at talent and the promotion when Vince McMahon was still in charge.
The former UFC fighter was pushed as a top star during her nearly five-year spell with WWE, which included main-eventing WrestleMania. She became a three-time world champion but left due to the schedule, creative frustrations and to focus on her family.
Baszler, who remains a close friend with Rousey, was asked by Chris Van Vliet about the possibility of seeing the Baddest Woman on the Planet return to a wrestling ring. The former NXT Women’s Champion used CM Punk’s November 2023 as an example of ‘never say never’:
“I never think Ronda is done. She’s a crazy person. I don’t know. She loves being a mom. It would take a bit, but CM Punk came back. Ronda Rousey can come back.”
Rousey responded to talk over a potential return back in September and explained how WWE had left the door open. But she was adamant during an interview with Yahoo Sports that she was thinking about doing so
“I didn’t hear from anybody. It was more of the way we left it was, they were like, ‘There’s always an open door; if you ever want to come back, let us know.”
She added:
“I just don’t think I could ever be on the road with the company again. I have two girls now, and hopefully we can have some more soon, I’d love that. And there’s just no room in my life to be able to maintain that lifestyle and a family at the same time.”
Rousey does seem to hold a good relationship with WWE’s chief content officer, Triple H, who replaced Vince McMahon as head of creative after she left. If she were to return, she could be handed a part-time schedule like Brock Lesnar, who has made just five appearances since returning at SummerSlam in August.

Rousey hasn’t been afraid to speak her mind about her frustrations regarding her time in WWE and the creative process. But booking aside she lost the fans when she visibly got upset by their reactions to her and couldn’t quite get to grips with the kayfabe side of the business.
The 38-year-old impressed on her debut when she teamed with Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. But beyond that, her performances weren’t great, as Becky Lynch alluded to, claimingWWE mishandled her.
“She was coming off a different industry. She was a star, and she should have been handled differently in terms of — I think she had such a great first outing that everybody thought, ‘Oh, she can wrestle.’ I mean this with respect, but she couldn’t wrestle” – Lynch on Rousey.
WWE’s women’s division is thriving heading into 2026 and that’s not just on RAW or SmackDown. Stars are shining in NXT such as Kendal Grey who is touted as the new female Kurt Angle.
I don’t want her in the Ring. She needs to be her children, they grow up to fast, and she should not pass up the chance to see it.
